The next time you're in a small or large gathering and a few black fellas come through the front door, you turn to your fellow white friend and say, "oh boy, guess we should hide the ropes." Should this statement be considered ridiculously racist? Or ridiculously funny? If we substitute the two honkeys with two asians, does it suddenly because less racist and more hilarious? Simply because asains didn't oppress black folk nearly 100 years ago? These questions go unanswered. I think the simple statement being that people need to find a sense of humor in things, rather than taking everything so seriously, of course it depends on the level of Racism, there is a difference between hilarious and not hilarious. Keep that in mind. To quote Kelly Tilghman the only way to beat Tiger Woods is to "Lynch him in a back ally" Ridiculously Racist? Or morbidly hilarious? Tiger woods seems to think the latter. To quote Don Imus, "That's some nappy-headed hos there." The one that started it all. Did Don see the repercussions coming? Probobly not, is he sorry? Not even a little. That's the true white person way of course. On another Ironic funny note, as I type this right this minute, my class is talking about Racist comments. Simply put, If you're not a funny person, never talk about anything, because not only are you a boring person, but you're not funny, and being an unfunny person is just a good way of saying "lets never be friends." *If any person was offended by the previous article, take a minute to murder thynself* |

You make several good points. Namely the point you were making. To quote Benjamin Folds, "I can feel that someone's blasting me with hate and bass, sending dirty vibes my way, 'cause my great-great-great-great granddad made someone's great-great-great-great grandaddies slaves. It wasn't my idea." Get off it. I don't believe there is much hate nowadays because of skin color and some ѕнїт long ago that probably didn't even happen. All the hate is based on the person's actions. I don't care what color/race/species you are, if you act like a ғᴜᴄᴋle, I'm gonna hate you like one. It's not my fault some stereotypes are simply more like facts. In the meantime, I'll continue to make jokes that are funny. I shouldn't have to change my behavior or wording because I used a word similar to another word which was used during the time in which words were used to speak poorly of a person in a time of poor judgement whencewhich I was not a part of henceforth should not have to behave as if I was guilty of hithersaid mistakes. Prove me wrong, please. But prove me wrong by promoting positive change of mankind. Edited by megalomaniac, Apr 17 2008, 09:32 PM.

As a Black woman, I think Imus was targeted because he was a white person who said something that Blacks have been saying all along.. and if he was out of a job as a result of it, then so should have others who have said things like it, and a lot worse.
